Creative Paper: Bullet Journaling and Plannering

When I’m feeling stressed or upset, I’ve been trying to get into a hobby. One of my newest hobbies has been journals/planners; making them, decorating them, making them fit my personality, even going to planner/journal meet ups! I’m throwing a HUGE thank you to my friend Kim ❤️ who got me into them. Cuz I’m absolutely, completely, insanely, in love!

While I don’t always remember to write in my journal or keep my planner up to date, that doesn’t stop my love for them. (Right now I’m really bad at keeping that planner up to date… Cuz what the heck do I have to keep track of?! 1pm meeting with the sofa. 6pm wander the kitchen. I suppose it would keep me on track with things like writing posts or fitting in time to do music.)

I had a planner for years, but was never really excited about writing in it or playing around with it. Then, I went to a ‘wine and plan’ event. It. Was. Amazing. Getting to craft with other ladies who have just as much fun? Going on a wine tour in Traverse City? Getting a girls weekend with NO kids?! Yes… Yes to all!

This trip was what really spurred my love of journals and planners. It was where I got to create my very first journal. And I don’t mean just decorating a notebook. I am talking full on cutting, glueing, stringing, pocket-making goodness! A cute, little, pocket sized, traveller’s notebook. 😍

Isn’t it cute?!

From there, I make a few more before I fell down the rabbit-hole into larger journals and started getting premade covers.

They help keep me organized (😂… Sure… Sure). I have 2 main planners. One that travels wherever I go and one that lives at home. And yes, they are full of bright colors, sparkly goodies, and fun stickers. Cuz, why not?!

I use several different notebooks as well. I have a notebook for our finances; where I keep all our money related info. I have a notebook for meal planning; it has daily meals, weekly shopping lists, monthly overviews, and a list of staples we like to have on hand. One of the notebooks is for healthcare info; insurance info, medical history, emergency info, power of attorney, etc. Another one for household checklists; yearly, monthly, weekly cleaning lists, decluttering charts, and project lists. And I have one for regular journaling/songwriting.

Inspiration Journal

I put this together as part of an online planner Meetup. It was just the black shell, but I decided I wanted to fill it with things that would lift me up when I was down, quotes to inspire me, pretty things, unicorns, pictures. It was a blast to make. Yup, it’s chaotic… But it expresses my personality. It brightens my day and makes me smile. It lives near my desk, so I can snag it and flip through whenever I’m struggling with anything.

Planner covers from:

Other goodies from various shops on Etsy. Let me know if you want info on planner sales, links to shops, or anything you might be looking for (I bet I can find it or get you looking in the right place).

  1. I love the inspiration journal! I try to put stuff on my walls to do that, but since I don’t FACE any walls in my office, it’s not as useful as I thought it would be. XP

A journal would do something similar, but I could flip through it whenever I needed to!
